Remembrance
Obituaries, services, condolences and family tools for funeral homes, on their own website.
v1.0.0 · WordPress 6.6+ · PHP 8.1+ · Stripe · WooCommerce · WordPress

The problem
Hosted obituary platforms charge an independent funeral home around a hundred dollars a month, own the pages families share, and look like every other funeral home in the county. Doing it in WordPress by hand means a page builder, a comments plugin that is not moderated, and no way for families to help.
What we built
Remembrance gives a funeral home, crematory or cemetery everything families expect on its own website, in a calm design that inherits the theme and works for older visitors and screen readers. Each obituary has a portrait, dates, survived-by and preceded-by sections, and service details with map links and add-to-calendar files. Visitors search the listing, light a candle, sign a moderated guestbook with spam protection, share photos into an approval queue, and subscribe to new-obituary alerts with double opt-in. Staff get a director dashboard, autosave and revisions, templates, a printable obituary and service program, a CSV importer for any previous provider, built-in SMTP delivery and Person and Event structured data on every page. Everything in the free plugin works without limits.
Remembrance Pro adds the parts a family and a funeral director pay for: family access to review the draft and approve photos, livestreams with a countdown, flower orders routed to a local florist, memorial donations with a family report, a confidential pre-planning form with encrypted records, tribute slideshows, anniversary reminders, RSVP and multi-location support.

FAQ
Questions about Remembrance
Short, factual answers. Anything else, ask us.
Do I need Remembrance Pro?
No. The free plugin is the obituary pages, services, guestbook, candles, photos, print views, email alerts and dashboard, without limits. Pro adds the family portal, livestreams, flowers, donations, pre-planning, tribute videos, reminders and locations.
Do I need WooCommerce or Stripe?
Only for flowers and donations. If WooCommerce is active, orders go through your shop. Otherwise paste your Stripe keys and the plugin registers its own webhook; nothing to set up in the Stripe dashboard. Remembrance adds no fees of its own.
How is pre-planning data protected?
Each record is encrypted with a site key the plugin provisions on activation. Only users with the pre-planning capability can open records, and every open, download and edit is written to an append-only log. Nothing personal from a record is ever put in an email.
Does it work with my theme?
Yes. Obituary pages render inside your theme and inherit its fonts and colours. Print views and the family portal render on their own so they look right everywhere.
Will emails reach people?
Remembrance sends through WordPress by default and includes an SMTP option with a test button, so you can connect Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or any mail provider in a minute.
What happens when a Pro license expires?
Pro keeps working. Updates and support stop until you renew; a notice appears on the Remembrance dashboard and Plugins screen, nowhere else.
