Wine clubs are a winery's biggest direct-to-consumer revenue line, and the software that runs them takes a percentage of every shipment on top of a monthly fee. The alternative is spreadsheets, a subscriptions plugin that knows nothing about releases, cut-offs or which states a winery may ship to, and a day of hand-charging cards every quarter. CellarClub runs a wine, cider or spirits club on WooCommerce. Set up tiers with bottles per shipment, shipments a year, member and shipping discounts, a pick-up option and an optional signup fee. The signup block checks the visitor is 21 or older, checks the shipping state live and saves a card through any WooCommerce gateway that stores cards. Member pricing applies across the store automatically, and members manage shipments, card, address and pick-up or ship in their own portal. For each release you set a default package per tier, prepare a shipment for every member and charge them in background batches: one WooCommerce order per member with member prices and correct tax, every attempt logged, failures reported, 3-D Secure handled with a pay link. Fulfilment CSVs, pick lists, packing slips, tracking import, heat holds, gift memberships, members-only products and a member CSV importer are included. Compliance is never decided in code: an adapter answers "may this ship?" and a manual allowed-states list is the fallback. Everything in the free plugin works without limits.
