HarvestShare documentation

HarvestShare runs a CSA or weekly produce-box program from WordPress: seasons, shares, pickup sites, member signup and portal, a weekly box planner and pickup rosters. HarvestShare Pro adds box customization, a farm store, waitlist, reports, route sheets, SMS reminders and renewals.

Requirements

• WordPress 6.6 or newer, PHP 8.1 or newer.
• Payments: WooCommerce (and WooCommerce Subscriptions for installments) if you already use them; otherwise a Stripe account for the built-in Stripe Checkout; or no gateway at all if members pay the farm directly.

Install

1. Download the free plugin from the HarvestShare product page, then Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, install and activate.
2. Go to HarvestShare → Settings: farm name, email, time zone and the payment method.

Quick start: your first season

1. Seasons: name, start and end dates, number of weeks, signup window, capacity, skip cutoff and maximum skips. Week 1 starts on the season start date.
2. Share Types: full, half (every other week) and add-on shares such as eggs or flowers, priced per season or per week, with optional installment plans.
3. Pickup Sites: day of week, time window, capacity. Add delivery zones by ZIP prefix with a per-week fee if you deliver.
4. Create a page with the CSA Signup block (or [harvestshare_signup]) and another with the Member Portal block (or [harvestshare_portal]). Select the portal page in Settings.
5. Each week, open Box Planner, set what is in the box per share type, and publish; a “What’s in the box” post goes out automatically.
6. On pickup day, print or export the roster under Rosters. Helpers with the check-off capability can tick boxes off without full admin access.

Members can skip a week or set a vacation hold before the cutoff and up to the season maximum, change pickup site, and see payment history in the portal. Emails go out for signup confirmation, weekly box contents, skip confirmation and pickup reminders.

HarvestShare Pro: activation and updates

1. Buy a plan on the HarvestShare product page: Pro for one site, Agency for unlimited sites. The Lemon Squeezy receipt has your key and harvestshare-pro.zip.
2. Upload and activate the Pro plugin; the free plugin must stay active.
3. Enter the key under HarvestShare → Settings → License. Features unlock and updates arrive through Dashboard → Updates.

Pro adds box customization (members swap items within a swap group before the cutoff; swaps appear on rosters and pack lists), the farm store with pre-order windows and stock, a waitlist with automatic timed offers, harvest and packing reports with printable pack lists, route sheets grouped by zone and ordered by ZIP and street, SMS reminders through Twilio with STOP/START handling, renewal campaigns with early-bird discounts, and a revenue dashboard.

Privacy

Member profiles (name, email, phone, address) live in custom tables on your site and are covered by the WordPress personal data export and erasure tools. Stripe, if configured, receives the member’s email and name to create a customer. Twilio, if configured in Pro, receives phone numbers for the texts you send.
